Golf at Celebration
The golf course at Celebration was designed by Robert Trent Jones and Robert Trent Jones jnr.
It offers a wonderful golfing experience. It is advisable to book in advance as availability and green fees depend on the time of year.
As you have come to expect in Florida the welcome is warm and friendly, and the staff are very efficient.
The colonial style clubhouse and locker rooms are smart and functional and practice putting greens and chipping areas are well situated and in excellent condition, the unique water driving range only adds to your anticipation of the course.

On your arrival at the first tee the starter will do his best to give you a brief outline of the course including the fact that there is a selection of 5 tee positions suitable for all standards of golfers.
When appropriate he will invite you to play and you can begin your round. You will soon realize that although the fairways are generous, you must be in the correct part of the fairway to give yourself an easier shot to the undulating greens.

The first hole is a prime example of being in the correct position down the left hand side of the fairway to give yourself a shot to a green that slopes severely from right to left towards the water. Whilst a safer drive to the right side of the fairway gives a more difficult second shot.
As you continue on the first nine amid the rolling fairway between the crops of the tall pine and beside the crisp clear lakes you can appreciate the Architects approach to risk and reward golf, take a risk, hit a good shot and you reap your reward.

The seventh hole is a particularly strong par 4 at a little over 400 yards with a number of bunkers; a good drive will leave you with a medium to long iron to a well guarded sloping green. To walk off with a par would be most satisfying.

After completing a fairly open front nine holes, the back nine are threaded between wonderful trees that really does put a premium on accuracy not length , and around every corner there is a variety of wildlife to enjoy.
As you reach holes seventeen and eighteen it reverts to open fairways and on reaching the clubhouse I am sure you will look back on a most enjoyable golfing experience.

At the windmill tavern you can take advantage of the full restaurant service or snacks and drinks, sit outside on the patio and reflect on the ups and downs of amateur golf.
